Current Projects and Collaborations

I am currently working on a book length study on the relic collection at the Royal Abbey of St.-Denis of France.

This is part of a broader project called Sacral Paris about how relic cults helped shaped the medieval city.

​

I am working on a long-history of the militant cross, The Cross Invincible.

​

I am co-editor with Anne Lester (Johns Hopkins University) of the book series, Medieval Societies, Religions, and Cultures, and Cornell University Press.  

​

I am one of four editors of the forthcoming Cambridge History of the Crusades, in three volumes, working with Jonathan Phillips (chief editor), Thomas Madden, and Andrew Jotischky.

Christopher MacEvitt (also of Dartmouth College) and I are editing a book called Cities of Relics, which came out of a workshop we sponsored in 2023.
